Hello,
Dont't know... The hgfs driver module is just a part of the default tools intallation, I guess....
VMHGFS only works with Workstation. It is NOT part of ESX and will not work. Why it is installed on ESX based VMs is a hold over from the tools that are developed for Workstation. They in effect have unified tools now, so that the development is simplified.
You could try to add "Isolation.tools.HGFS.disable = "true" to the VMs .vmx file prior to installing the tools, but I do not think that solves your problem...
Does not work. I have tried everything, the only thing you can do is comment out the code in vmware-config-tools.pl.
This is a known issue and VMware is working on a fix. It may be fixed in U3, I have yet to test this.
